Fire Stations across the county regularly open their doors to the public, giving Surrey residents an insight into the activities of their local fire station.
It's an opportunity for members of the public to see at first hand the range of activities involved with being a modern firefighter, with many stations having demonstrations of particular firefighting or rescue skills throughout the day.
The Open Days provide an ideal occasion for you to learn about some important fire safety messages. Your local fire crews are on hand to carry out home fire risk checks.
Using a simple questionnaire, they look at potential problem areas in your home and offer advice and guidance on how to reduce the risk of fire. The check also covers advice about fitting and maintaining smoke alarms and getting people to think about escape plans for their home should a fire occur. There are also displays highlighting the dangers of fire and you can take home various leaflets with simple but vital fire safety advice.
The events, activities and timings vary from station to station. Events for this year will be listed below when they are arranged.
