Surrey Fire and Rescue Service do not service fire extinguishers.
Extinguisher maintenance and servicing is the legal duty of the "Responsible Person" for the premises where they are located. The Fire and Rescue Authority, as an enforcing authority can require the provision of such equipment, however, in Surrey the Fire and Rescue Authority or Surrey Fire and Rescue service does not enter into any Service agreements.
It is recommended that routine examinations of extinguishers should be carried out on a weekly basis by members of the workforce, and it is a requirement of BS 5306 Part 8 that more detailed maintenance procedures be carried out by a 'competent person' on an annual basis.
